5 Great Performances, 3 Options
To "Build" Your Own Season.
When the
2011 Celebrated Speakers Series at The Emerson Center kicks off,
audiences will experience a whole new level of programming and choices,
thanks in large part to the generous support
of
the series’ new
Presenting
Sponsor, Wilmington Trust.
According to Donald Croteau, “Wilmington Trust has opened the door for
us to add a fifth speaker to our annual series, enabling our patrons,
subscribers, and guests to experience additional thought-provoking
programs. Plus, we’ve come up with a way to allow each subscriber to
‘build’ their own season by choosing a 5-show season or either of two
4-show options.”
For those who select a 5-show Full Season, they will first meet
Peggy Noonan, author and political columnist, on January 15,
2011, followed by Patrick Jake (P.J.) O’Rourke, America’s premier
political satirist, on February 5, 2011. Author and former national
security advisor, Zbigniew Brzezinski, will appear on
February
26, 2011. Gwen Ifill, the moderator and managing editor for
Washington Week follows on March 19, 2011 while Paul Krugman, one
of the world’s foremost economists, concludes the series on April 9,
2011. Full Season subscriptions cost $275.00 each and prior subscribers
will be entitled to retain their seat selections provided they renew
prior to the March 27, 2010 deadline.
Some patrons and subscribers may elect a Short Season option that
includes only 4-shows. “Option 1,” features Noonan, O’Rourke, Brzezinski,
and Ifill. “Option 2” subscribers will attend O’Rourke, Brzezinski,
Ifill, and Krugman. Again in 2011, Short Season subscribers pay just
$220 per subscription and they may retain their previous years’ seat
assignment when they renew before the March 27th deadline.
To assure that subscribers’ special needs and requests are met, online
reservations will not be available for the 2011 series. Instead,
subscribers are asked to call the Emerson Center box office at
772-778-5249 for reservations.
Halsey Smith, Managing Director of Wilmington Trust adds, “We are
excited about helping bring the Celebrated Speakers Series to our
community.
Since
its inception in 2006, the Celebrated Speakers Series has continued to
distinguish itself by providing quality performances and attentive
service to the people of Indian River County and beyond. We are
especially excited about the changes planned for the 2011 season and
know this season will be remembered as the best ever.”

By the
way, the
>>2010
Celebrated Speakers Series<< is already underway. Single tickets for these
performances may be purchased
